The second coming of Jesus Christ has a few names; the rapture and Armageddon.

Those events have captivated Christians and non-Christians for over 2,000 years.

Now a group of Jewish and gentile believers are reaching back to the ancient past for answers to our future.

"As I started investigating the scriptures more deeply, I came upon scriptures in Jeremiah that said we needed to get back to the ancient paths...splice...and of course Christianity comes right out of Judaism. So those are the ancient paths," said Pastor Bruce Dowell.

February 20th, 2008, at Temple Mount in Jerusalem, Pastor Mark Biltz of El Shaddai Ministries in Bonney Lake Washington saw something, a total lunar eclipse also called a "blood moon" for its reddish hue.

"I thought 'wow' that looks just like what the Lord was talking about in the last days," said Pastor Mark Biltz with El Shaddai Ministries.

In the book of Joel, Chapter 2, verse 31 it says, "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come."

"So I did a comparison. I went to NASA's website to see if there would be any total solar or lunar eclipses in the next 10 years, said Biltz.

And what he found were four in a row.

"To my surprise, in 2014 NASA has what it calls a Tetrad-4, total lunar eclipses back to back," said Biltz.

And according to Luke chapter 21 verse 25,  "...and there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring."

But we won't have to wait until 2015 to find out if what Pastor Biltz and his messianic colleagues believe is true.  We could all know, they say, in as little as two months.

On the afternoon of the 13th of Tammuz (JULY 16TH), the Temple Institute organized an historic event: the first tola'at shani - crimson worm - harvest in the land of Israel in perhaps 2000 years. The location of the harvest was the Samarian hilltop village of Neve Tsuf. The immediate purpose for the event was the need to gather the crimson worms for the purpose of creating the avnet - the sixteen meter long belt for the bigdei kehuna - the priestly garments now being produced by the Temple Institute. The long-term goal was to educate a new generation about the elusive tola'at shani, how to harvest it, and how to produce from it the crimson dye prescribed in the Torah for a number of Temple related purposes, including the priests' avnet - belts, the scarlet wool tied onto the se'ir l'azazel - the scapegoat - on Yom Kippur, and one of the essential ingredients for producing the ashes of the red heifer.

The Shani- red dyed wool of the ancient world along with the biblical techelet and argaman, (blue and purple), was among the most prized and valuable fabrics of its day. Naturally, it fulfilled an important function in the Holy Temple, where, aside from the ritual purposes mentioned about, it was copiously employed in the various curtains and tapestries that adorned the Holy Temple.

The bulla of King Zedekiah's...

A seal impression belonging to a minister of the Biblical King Zedekiah which dates back 2,600 years has been uncovered completely intact during an archeological dig in Jerusalem's ancient City of David, a prominent Israeli archeologist said on Thursday.

The seal impression, or bulla, with the name Gedalyahu ben Pashur, who served as minister to King Zedekiah (597-586 BCE) according to the Book of Jeremiah, was found just meters away from a separate seal impression of another of Zedekia's ministers, Yehukual ben Shelemyahu, which was uncovered three years ago, said Prof. Eilat Mazar who is leading the dig at the site.
