In a nutshell, the Divine Council is the group of divine beings — seraphim, cherubim, and malakim — who make up the court of God. It’s referenced most notably in I Kings 22:19-23 and Psalm 82.

The rebellion of the fallen angels has taken place in several stages:

The “serpent” in Eden;
The Watchers of Genesis chapter 6, whose interaction with human women produced the Nephilim;
The seventy “sons of God” (bene elohim) who were placed over the nations after the incident at the Tower of Babel.

Those 70 bene elohim became the gods of the nations around the ancient Hebrews: Marduk, Molech, Chemosh, Baal, Asherah, Dagon, and the rest. They are still with us, and their goal is the destruction of mankind.

He has a passion for analyzing the influence of ancient religious and spiritual movements on the facets of modern-day culture. In this interview, he discusses the subject of his latest book, which dissects the elements of the rock and roll culture during its “classic” era from the late 1960s through early 1980s, as he discovered uncanny similarities to the various aspects of the Mystery religions practiced in antiquity. Some of the similarities that are noted in this discussion include the use of loud music, dancers, pyrotechnics, and augmentation by the ingestion of hallucinogenic substances. The book’s classification of various rock acts into the differing aspects of the Mystery religions, such as “Apollonian”, “Dionysian”, “Plutonian” and other manifestations, are briefly discussed, which proceeds after an excellent (and useful for researchers) primer on the basic nature of the Mystery religions with its pages. The key elements of these religious tenants that many people are not aware of include their emphasis on experience versus doctrine and dogma, the use of foreign gods and unspeakable rituals, and their intentions to transform the psychological nature of the initiates, many of which are noted in this discussion, as well as a consideration of how these practices differed from the philosophy and doctrines of Gnosticism. He also responds to the host’s assertions that the military-themed ritual acts of the Korybantes may have their reflections in the “warrior-worship” aspects of modern-day Christian media, and that the ancient prophecies that their actions “hide the growing boyhood of Dionysus” may suggest that these actions may distract the Church from a growing pagan spirituality within their own midst, as well the Roman religion emphasis on military force and virility that may be a template for the American Christian community’s embrace of similar themes, as well as their veneration of America’s economic “virility”. He also shares on his personal spiritual history and Christian legacy, and provides a perspective that gives food for thought for many Christian listeners.
